AIEA HIGH SCHOOL - ATHLETICS

Welcome to 'Aiea High's Athletics Page!

UPDATED (9/15/2021)
With the start of the athletic season on 9/27 coming soon, the mandated vaccinated student-athlete rule is still in effect.  Prior to the season opening date (9/27) I will need all interested student-athletes for the Fall Spring Sports to email me a picture of your vaccination card.  You can send a screenshot or picture of your vaccination card to bryce.kaneshiro@k12.hi.us
If you have already sent a picture of your vaccination card to the school, you do not need to send another one.

For those who are waiting for a religous exempition, the new form to fill out to request for a religous exemption is attached to this link.  After completing the religous exempt form request, please email that document to:  christina.simpson@k12.hi.us  She will be following up on your request.  If the request is granted, then the student-athlete needs to test twice a week and present a negative COVID test so they are allowed to participate.

If you are waiting for a medical exemption, forms and procedures will be coming soon.

There are still no spectators at all of our practices and events.  I know this is a disappointment for parents, but please understand this is needed for the time being, to get our student-athletes back.  Thank you for your understanding to this matter.  We look forward to the start of the athletic season!

UPDATED (8/4/2021):
All athletic events (practice and games) have been temporarily suspended until September 24.  The Department of Education has developed new safety protocols for student-athletes and coaches to participate in sports this 2021-22 school year.

From the Department of Education:
"Effective Sept. 24, 2021, all HIDOE student-athletes, athletic staff and volunteers participating in school-sanctioned athletic activities will need to be fully vaccinated.  Full vaccination is defined as two weeks after a second dose in a two-dose series to two weeks after a single-dose vaccine.  In the meantime, due to the state's high positivity rate, the Department is delaying the start of the fall athletic season until Sept. 24 to allow for anyone unvaccinated or not yet fully vaccinated to get inoculated."
