Principal's Message

Dear Community of Aiea High School,

We would like to officially welcome everyone to ‘Aiea High School, Home of the Na Ali‘i.  'Aiea High School (AHS) was founded in 1961, built in a sugar plantation town, overlooking historic Pearl Harbor. AHS maintains a focus on improving the academic achievements of a diverse student population. The collaborative efforts between teachers, students, parents, and members of the community afford our students many leadership and character-building opportunities to prepare them for success as global citizens.

Our school believes that all students have equity and access to rigorous courses and experiences. We work towards the engagement of our parents and industry partners as we develop “transferable” skills so students are able to adapt to the ever-changing world. We are an academy school that provides college prep courses with career academy themes. At ʻAiea High we offer the following academies:  Academy of Professional Aspirations and the Academy of Innovations.

Our supports are geared toward amplifying student voices, providing time for teachers to collaborate and to design a structure to support the needs of our students and community.

Please feel free to contact me at 808 305-6500 or email david.tanuvasa@k12.hi.us anytime.

Go Na Ali’i.

Respectfully,

David Tanuvasa, Principal
