Senior Announcements from Mr. Sean Uwaine, Class of 2012 Advisor - 1/9/12

The next Project Grad payment day is Tuesday, January 31st from 4-6:30 pm in front of the old office. You will need to have your completed registration and either the full payment of $175 or the down payment of $75. As of February 1st, the cost will be $200.

If you have questions about any of the events, please talk to any of the class officers or Mr. Uwaine.

Senior Agreements were distributed on 12/7/11 and were due by 12/15/11. AGREEMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED IF PARTICIPATION IN OUR COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY IS DESIRED. Please contact Mr. Sean Uwaine at 483-7300, Ext 325 regarding any questions about the agreement.

*SENIORS - Cap & Gown Orders - Order Early!

Cost of order is $47.12 (includes tax). Forms may be obtained in A-5 or in the Office. Checks should be payable to: Balfour Co. and mailed directly to vendor.
Orders received AFTER 12/1, will incur an additional late fee and must be mailed to Balfour Co.. Contact Information:

*Aiea Na Ali'i Project Grad 2012 - May 25, 2012 - $200

Project Graduation provides a safe, chemical-free celebration for graduating Seniors at Aiea High School after our Commencement Ceremony. The committee is seeking Co-Chairs for 2013, 2014, 2015 and volunteers.

*Class of 2012 Senior Project Proposal

The Senior Project will provide enormous benefits for your child both now and in the future. Successful completion of the Senior Project is one of the requirements for the Board of Education Recognition Diploma. The Senior Project is a valuable tool in determining your child's mastery of the General Learner Outcomes and the Hawaii Content and Performance Standards. This is an opportunity for our students to apply what they have learned in a real world situation.

To Succeed in College or a Career, Hawai‘i’s Students Need to Prepare in High School

Step Up is a community-wide campaign that promotes college and career readiness for Hawai‘i’s high
school students.

To succeed in today’s information age and to prepare for a dynamic and ever-changing future, Hawai‘i’s high school students are encouraged to earn the Hawai‘i State Board of Education’s Step Up Diploma. This diploma, available
for the graduating classes of 2013 and beyond, is different from the regular high school diploma. It includes more challenging classes in math, science and writing, and it also includes the completion of a senior project.

Upon graduation, students who earn the BOE Step Up Diploma are rewarded with incentives for stepping up to this challenge. And they are better prepared to succeed after high school, whether they choose to attend college or choose a career.
